Prospective Marriage Visa Australia (Subclass 300)
Congratulations on your engagement!
Now comes the hard part… If one of you is presently overseas, before you can start your lives together as a married couple, you will need to apply for a prospective marriage visa (subclass 300).
Once you are granted this visa, you will have 9 months to enter Australia and get married. You can get married in Australia or overseas, but you must enter Australia before you get married.
After you are married and before the 9 months are up, you will need to lodge a subclass 820 visa application (sometimes called the temporary onshore partner visa).
